The anchorage can be very rolly if there's a swell running but provides great access to the park. There is a $10 fee for anchoring + $8/pp to enter the park.
Punta Quepos
A small bay that is more protected from southerly swells and can make for a nice stop if you want to avoid the town and maybe the officials.
The bottom is a mix of rock and sand so make sure you set your anchor in a nice sandy patch in about 35'. You might be able to approach closer to the shore to find a shallower spot to drop the anchor.

Nice and very well design marina facilities , its on first stage of construction , 100 + slips avaliable , need reservation , fuel dock with clean fuel , groceries store , and need to commute to town (quepos ) for supplies , nice and well organized area for travelers and tourism , lot to see , nice beaches around and gorgeous national park , manuel antonio . cost high .
Quepos Anchorage
Quepos is a nice little town with lots of restaurants and activities for tourists. There are a lot of moored boats packed in here and you'll need to find a spot that you feel comfortable with.

Located at the eastern end of Bahia Herradura, approximately 26 mile south of Puntarenas, Costa Rica. This is a luxury resort and marina recently completed and opened to the public. Floating docks, fuel and oil, provisions and restaurants are all available in the marina/resort complex. The nearby town of Jaco caters to surfers and tourists with local crafts and arts and surf shops. For guests flying into to meet the boat this is an excellent alternative to either Puntarenas (rather rough and dirty) or Golfito (about an 8 hour cab ride from San Jose airport).
